It Never-Snows Here
It snowed again here on Sunday night. As of 9:00 AM Monday, there was still plenty of snow on the ground for the commute, and we got some snow mid-day, too. So, even you conflate Sunday night’s with Monday’s snow, this marks the third snow we’ve had in Seattle this winter. Which then marks the second consecutive winter that we’ve had three snows in Seattle.
And everybody says it never snows here, though I believe I’ve finally convinced My Baby, who is not delusional like the rest of the city’s population, that it does snow.
Actually, I think it’s some weird kind of dialect thing. Like their word for the verb “to snow” is “to never-snow.” As in, “It never-snows here.” Or, “It’s supposed to never-snow tonight.” Or, “It’s never-snowing for the third time this winter, for the second consecutive winter.”
And there’s more never-snow in the forecast, too. I wonder if I continue to keep stats on the amount of never-snow we get here if I can get some never-dirt or never-ice [UPDATE: I meant never-salt] put on the roads.

I like that- I hope it doesn’t never-snow tomorrow. Whenever it never-snows, everybody panics and businesses shut down. I’ve got stuff to do. I did, however, like that the school children of the neighborhood, who had a never-snow-day yesterday, made valiant attempts at a never-snow fort. It’s all hairy-looking with blades of grass sticking out everywhere.
